White cake with butter cream icing & marshmallow fondant "coal"
My Mom said "don't make petit fours they are a ROYAL PAIN" As usual I have to do everything my Mom tells me not to do and learn the hard way...

They came out beautiful but... as usual, Mom was right.
My dearest friend & her husband are celebrating their 28th Anniversary so hubby and I surprised them with the Fred Flintstone "Happy Anniversary" song and an anniversary cake... I must say I think we took them by total surprise.
My son TJ needed a desert to bring to a dinner at work so he suckered his Momma into making a cake for him...
Golden vanilla almond cake with butter cream icing, berries & snow. The cardinal and lettering is marshmallow fondant. The snowflakes are raspberry flavored royal icing and dusted with pearl dust. The branches are hand painted with food color & vanilla.
Needless to say I think it looks pretty good despite a few minor bumps in the road. I hope it "passes' inspection and hopefully someone will take my number from TJ and order a cake sometime. I seriously need to start supporting this hobby!
